Shipping, Customs & Import Charges

International Orders

Orders shipped outside Iceland may be subject to import duties, taxes, tariffs, customs fees, brokerage fees, or other charges required by your country or the shipping carrier. These charges are not included in our prices or shipping rates unless clearly stated during checkout.

The recipient is responsible for paying any import-related charges required for delivery.

Customs inspections or processing may occasionally delay a shipment. Any estimate we provide for duties or taxes is only an estimate, and the final amount is determined by your local customs authority or shipping carrier.

If you choose not to pay the required charges, or if your shipment cannot be delivered because customs requirements are not met, your package may be returned, abandoned, or destroyed by the carrier or customs authorities.

If this happens, a refund is not guaranteed. Any refund that is issued may be reduced by shipping costs and any customs, carrier, return, storage, handling, or disposal charges incurred by Ilmur & Sjór.

Additional Information for U.S. Orders

Due to recent changes in U.S. import tariffs, shipments to the United States may occasionally be charged tariffs or import fees that are unexpected or assessed incorrectly.

These charges are determined entirely by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the shipping carrier. Ilmur & Sjór has no control over how shipments are assessed and cannot guarantee the accuracy of any tariff or duty applied.

If you believe your shipment has been charged incorrectly, you are responsible for paying any charges required for delivery and, if you choose, disputing the assessment directly with the shipping carrier or the appropriate U.S. customs authority AFTER initial payment and delivery.
